NOVOMATIC acquires Talarius Ltd – British gaming operator

NOVOMATIC acquires Talarius Ltd

Europe’s leading gaming technology group, NOVOMATIC acquires Talarius Ltd, a popular British gaming operator. The company has acquired 100 % shares of Talarius and is now proud to become the UK’s leading AGC operator. Tatts Group, Australian gaming operator has sold its UK-focused subsidiary Talarius Limited to NOVOMATIC Group for a sum of AUD$210m (£111m).

Talarius was Tatts’ only international business and it has been acquired by the Australian operator in early 2008.

Following the successful acquisition, NOVOMATIC continues to grow on the UK market and is now employing over 3,800 employees in this important market.

NOVOMATIC CEO Harald Neumann:

“We have recognized the potential of Talarius and identified an opportunity for growth regarding the synergies stemming from the local infrastructure. With this transaction, we are able to further expand our market share in the UK, one of the largest European gaming markets”

The news that NOVOMATIC acquires Talarius follows NOVOMATIC UK Group’s recent successful completion of eight-month audit of the UK Gambling Commission. Each of the companies of the Group have passed the audit with distinction.

Talarius operates over 7,500 gaming terminals in 162 operations in the UK and it employs almost 1,000 staff. Back in 2015, Talarius achieved a turnover of around 65.5 million GBP. After the successful transaction, NOVOMATIC has become the largest gaming operator in the segment of Adult Gaming Centers in the UK area.

Tatts chief executive Robbie Cooke:

“The sale of Talarius follows three years of intense effort to improve the performance of a business that struggled since its acquisition by Tatts back in 2008.”

The NOVOMATIC Group is one of the largest international producers and operators of gaming solutions. The company employs over 24,000 staff around the world.
